Barbara Rotthaler

Barb Foto1My name is Barbara Rotthaler. I am a German certified Health Practitioner and Naturopath, living and working in Mexico for over 18 years. I provide a holistic approach to acute and chronic conditions, based on more than 40 years of experience in Alternative Medicine and Pain Therapy.

Getting healthy is like a journey, it rarely happens over night, but it can happen if there is willingness to take responsibility for your own healing process. I see myself as somebody who can assist and support you on this path with my knowledge and loving care.

Natural Medicine is a Medicine that brings back order and balance to a sick person’s system. It is important to find out the underlying cause of ailments or pain beyond the given diagnoses. The interconnection between the physical body, the emotional and spiritual part of a person and how these areas interact with the natural defense system is focus of my work.

In my work I use:

For general conditions:  Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy, Natural Methods (e.g. clay, herbs, water), Talk Therapy and Emotional Freedom Technique.

For pain conditions:  I am specialized in different “Body Work” techniques; Osteo Pressure or Pain Point Pressure Therapy (LnB Method from Germany), Deep Tissue Body Work, Myofascial Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Lymphatic Drainage, Reflexology, and Kinesio Taping.  Motivating people to be physically active, developing individual programs and providing help in finding the right physical exercise is a crucial part of my pain therapy.

Most important is to offer safe and successful treatments. Therefore, I will refer to therapists of other disciplines and work together with conventional medical doctors .

Seeing Myself as a Bridge Between Controversial Parts of Medicine

Often I see myself as a bridge between the two sides of medicine. On one side is the conventional, allopathic or mainstream medicine; on the other side there is the Natural, Alternative or Complementary Medicine.

Because of my insights, education and lifelong experiences in both of these areas, I can understand people who have difficulties taking the first step toward a different approach to their health problems.

Have an Open Mind

Each of these medical fields has its own pros and cons. It is important, therefore, that we see healthcare with an open and logical mind. There are so many wonderful, life-saving and progressive methods, especially in surgeries and life threatening situations. I am happy that we have conventional drugs when it is really necessary.

I think it would be more beneficial in the long term to first use the non-invasive natural medicine that supports the body in its own healing mechanisms. Then, if there is no improvement, using chemical drugs, surgeries, etc..

My Creed

To follow my concept of holistic medicine.

I always take enough time for each patient.

I see each patient from a holistic point of view, including the physical body as well as the emotional, mental and spiritual part of his or her being.

I include individual life and financial circumstances such as family and social aspects in my treatment-plan.

I accompany my patient during all phases of the healing-process.
